ABOUT THE AGENCY

CRS Hungary was established on 1.1.2011 and, at the same time, appointed by Lloyd's Agency Department to act as the appointed Lloyd's Agent for the territory of the Republic of Hungary. Our company has seamlessly continued in providing claim services previously offered by Messrs. Allianz Hungaria Biztosito ZRT.

CRS Hungary Kft. is a daughter company of CLAIMS and RECOVERY SERVICES CZ Ltd., which was established on 1.1.2002 and, at the same time, appointed by the Lloyd's of London to act as their settling agent for the territory of the Czech and Slovak Republics.

Lloyd's Network of Agents and Sub-Agents
The global Lloyd's Agency network consists of more than 675 Lloyd's Agents. The first Lloyd's Agency appointments were made in 1811, primarily for the provision of shipping movements and casualty information. Although most Agents still carry out this function their main role today is one of conducting or arranging surveys on ships and cargoes for insurers and commercial interests throughout the world. Almost 200 Agents have also been granted authority to adjust and settle claims arising under Lloyd's certificates of insurance.

With the increased scope and complexity of modern insurance many Lloyd's Agents have widened their activities into other fields – e.g. the non-marine claims, complex industrial claims including business interruption as well as private, company and product liability claims, building claims, investigative activities, etc..

Training of Lloyd's Agents
As part of the process of developing and improving the standard of professional surveying skills and services offered by Lloyd's Agents, the Agency Department has recently introduced a distance-learning course entitled 'Certificate of Cargo Surveying Proficiency'.

Electronic Reporting
Lloyd's Agents are equipped with software which allows for the electronic completion and transmission of all the Lloyd's standard surveying and claims adjusting forms and schedules. Survey reports and other standard forms can now be sent to principals via e-mail.
